Nathan acts frequently for Local Authorities in a wide range of disputes before the Magistrates Courts (and Crown Court), County Court and Upper Tribunal. These have included homelessness appeals, several HMO prosecutions and other housing matters, prosecutions under EPA 1990 and similar regulatory legislation, rating issues and complex possession actions (including cases of ‘tolerated trespass’). He also frequently advises Local Authorities on questions of trust law.

Reported cases include Pullen v Oxford City Council [2005] PLSCS 166, where he appeared for the successful Local Authority at first instance and on appeal in a possession action where the legal and equitable title to the tenancy was held by different parties.
