Radcliffe Chambers takes award-winning student experience programme online

Yesterday evening saw the final session of Radcliffe’s 2020 sixth-form barrister experience programme, hosted in collaboration with leading legal youth organisation, Big Voice London.

Following on from our successful student barrister experiences in 2018 and 2019, both of which were hosted at our offices in Lincoln’s Inn, we were delighted to have the opportunity to work with Big Voice London for another year to provide the experience in an online, socially distant format.

Our 2020 experience programme took place over four evenings and included sessions on civil law, advocacy, career progression and interview skills. In addition, all student participants are paired with a barrister mentor, who is there to offer them career advice on an ongoing basis.

Although it was shame that we were not able to welcome participants to Lincoln’s Inn or undertake court visits, hosting the experience online was very beneficial in that it made it easier for schools outside of London to take part and it meant that we were able to open up the experience to 20 sixth form students.

We would like to thank Big Voice London and all of the students who participated for their commitment to making the programme a success in these unusual circumstances.
