Rachel Lane has a busy chancery practice with a particular focus on private client, insolvency and property disputes. She is regularly instructed in complex and high-value matters and appears frequently in both the High Court and County Court. Rachel welcomes instructions across Chambers’ full range of practice areas.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Rachel was the sole fee earner in the Private Client department of a regional law firm, advising clients on wills, trusts, probate and estate administration.
Rachel graduated from the University of Cambridge with a Double First-Class degree in Law, ranking third in her year. Alongside her academic studies, she volunteered as a Pro Bono Caseworker for Amicus ALJ and distinguished herself in a number of prestigious advocacy competitions.
She subsequently completed the Bar Vocational Studies course at City Law School, achieving Distinctions in every module and placing third overall in her year. In recognition of her achievements, Rachel was awarded an Academic Excellence Scholarship and a Barstow Scholarship from City Law School, together with the Princess Royal Scholarship and Duke of Edinburgh Entrance Award from Inner Temple.
