William Fitzalan Howard joined chambers as a Pupil in September 2025, following nearly seven years as an investment banker. He has been supervised by Reuben Comiskey, Josh Lewison, Stuart Benzie and Matthew Tonnard.
Prior to coming to the Bar, William was a senior equity research analyst at an investment bank. He ran a team specialising in the valuation of transport and infrastructure assets.
During the practising period of his pupillage William has acted both led and unled in the High Court on multiple occasions, as well as appearing unled in the County Court and advising across a range of commercial, insolvency and property matters.
William completed the GDL and an LLM at City Law School, achieving a distinction in both qualifications and winning a prize for his dissertation on company law. He is a Kennedy Scholar of Lincoln’s Inn, and holds an MA (Cantab) in Classics.
William is the Vice-Chair of a Board of Governors at a school in Hackney, sits as a criminal magistrate in Central London, and has also served as a trustee of a large charity.
