Restructuring and insolvency junior Matthew Weaver joins Radcliffe Chambers

Radcliffe Chambers is delighted to welcome Matthew Weaver, who previously headed up the insolvency group at St Philips Stone. He brings with him substantial experience in restructuring and insolvency, and general commercial litigation including company law, fraud, asset tracing and professional liability.

Matthew was called to the Bar in 2002 and has an active practice in London and Birmingham. He is recognised by Chambers UK Bar and Legal 500 UK Bar as a leading junior for restructuring and insolvency, and commercial law. Clients say: “Matthew has an excellent technical knowledge of insolvency and the commercial, pragmatic approach he applies is outstanding” (Chambers UK Bar 2018).

Matthew’s arrival further strengthens Radcliffe Chambers’ restructuring and insolvency offering, which was significantly expanded by the recruitment of seven new members from 11 Stone Buildings in 2015. The set added three established practitioners in 2016 and, in January 2018, announced the addition of two new commercial members, Caroline Bolton and Anthony Dearing.

Fiona Fitzgerald, CEO of Radcliffe Chambers, said: “Matthew is an outstanding barrister, with impressive experience across a number of chambers’ core practice areas. He joins us at a time of exciting growth and will be a highly valued member of our insolvency and commercial teams.”

Radcliffe Chambers is a leading chancery and commercial set. It was described by Legal 500 UK Bar 2017 as “‘the chambers of choice’ for areas such as contentious trusts and probate, charity law, pensions, real estate, insolvency and general commercial litigation”.
