On Thursday 6 April 2023, at a final hearing, Mr Justice Zacaroli made a special administration order in respect of WealthTek LLP, a wealth management firm which also trades as Vertem Asset Management and Malloch Melville. The Judge appointed Shane Michael Crooks, Mark James Shaw and Emma Sayers of BDO LLP to act as WealthTek’s special administrators, represented by Kate Rogers.

Earlier in the week the FCA, led by Glen Davis KC of South Square, sought an urgent hearing which was heard before Mr Justice Roth, in the early hours of the morning, at which an interim management order had been made until the return date on Thursday 6 April 2023. Mr Justice Roth was satisfied on the evidence before the Court that there was at least a good prima facie case for saying that the FCA would succeed in its application for a special administration order.
