Junior Programme: Insolvency Litigation – 23 July 2020

Our next Junior Programme webinar focuses on insolvency litigation and will be presented by Jonathan Edwards and Andrew Brown on Thursday 23 July, at 11:00 am.

Jonathan will be discussing the recent judgments in the Brake v Swift litigation and cover a range of topics, including the nature of a trustee-in-bankruptcy’s interest in partnership property and what kinds of interests can re-vest in the bankrupt under provisions relating to their principal residence.

Andrew will discuss the recent cases of Chalcot Training Ltd v Ralph and Jones v Sky Wheels Group Ltd have brought the issues surrounding attempts to – after the fact – reclassify director remuneration back into the view of the courts, and provide a useful foundation to explore some of the issues surrounding how distributions to the directors are categorised and how they might be reclaimed in corporate insolvencies.

Junior Programme events are aimed at recently qualified lawyers and consist of an hour long webinar covering topical issues such as recent case law.

This webinar will be hosted on Zoom. You can sign up via Zoom’s website here.
