We are delighted to be joining forces with Charles Russell Speechlys, Freeths and Forsters to host three sessions as part of London International Disputes Week 2026.
Taking place on Wednesday 3 June, these sessions will bring together leading practitioners from the Bar, private practice and industry to explore key developments across private client disputes, digital assets, and cross-border litigation.
Steering the ship: Navigating the seas of trust applications without capsizing into hostile litigation
09:00 – 10:30 | Private Client Disputes (including trusts)
Hosted with Charles Russell Speechlys, this interactive session explores the enduring importance of trust applications and the risks of escalation into hostile and costly litigation if not carefully managed.
Using a case study of the fictitious Beecham family, the session will unfold through a series of live, interactive “client meetings” involving trustees, beneficiaries and their advisers. The panel will examine common pressure points, decision-making challenges and tactical considerations in semi-contentious trust disputes, with commentary and audience engagement throughout.
From Innovation to Institution: How Crypto Disputes Are Evolving as the Market Matures
11:30 – 13:00 | Data, Cyber and Innovation
In collaboration with Freeths, this panel will explore how disputes involving digital assets are evolving as the crypto market matures and becomes subject to increased regulatory scrutiny.
Drawing on perspectives from private practice, the Bar and in-house counsel, the session will consider how traditional legal principles are being applied to novel technologies, the impact of regulation on litigation strategy, and how businesses are managing legal risk in an increasingly complex and global landscape.
From the Gulf to Offshore, the UK and Beyond: Disputes and Asset Protection in Modern Litigation
16:30 – 18:00 | Cross-border disputes
Hosted with Forsters, this session will examine cross-border disputes involving Middle Eastern assets, offshore structures and the English courts.
The panel will discuss asset protection strategies, worldwide freezing orders and security for costs, as well as the growing interaction between the UK, offshore jurisdictions and the US. The session will also explore the widening range of disputes arising from these structures, including both commercial and trust-related claims.
These sessions reflect our continued commitment to providing practical, insightful analysis on complex disputes in an international context.
