The Secretary of State for Business and Trade has accepted a disqualification undertaking from Alexander (Lex) Greensill for a 9-year period in respect of his conduct in Greensill Capital (UK) Limited, Greensill Limited and Greensill Capital Pty Limited (an Australian company).
David Mohyuddin KC led the Secretary of State’s Counsel team comprising Carly Sandbach, Isabel Petrie and Chris de Beneducci, instructed by Morris Peacock of Howes Percival. The case was one of The Lawyer’s Top 20 Cases for 2026 with a six-week trial due to commence in June. During the proceedings, David and his team defeated Mr Greensill’s applications for a stay of part of the claim against him ([2025] EWHC 1380 (Ch)) and then to strike out the whole of the claim ([2025] EWHC 639 (Ch)).
David is standing King’s Counsel to the Insolvency Service and has a particular specialism in bringing and defending disqualification and other claims against directors. He has broad sector experience in high-value insolvency and commercial cases involving fraud and asset tracing, often with an overseas dimension. David is called to the Bar of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (BVI).
