James Anson-Holland’s Article Published in Trusts & Trustees.

James Anson-Holland’s latest article, “Hold me tender, hold me true: removing all trustees without replacement”, has recently been published in Trusts & Trustees.

The article addresses the question of what a court should do if the sole trustee or only trustees want to retire but no replacement can be found. It focuses on the decision of the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands Re O Trust [2025] CIGC FSD 56, which held that the answer was for the trustee to be “held before the court” without discharge until a replacement trustee could be found.

The article follows a presentation James delivered on the topic at the Chancery Bar Association Conference in the BVI earlier this year.
