On 7 September 2023, Steven Barrett gave evidence before the House of Commons Bill Committee on the upcoming Economic Activity of Public Bodies (Overseas Matters) Bill.
The Committee was taking evidence as part of its inquiry into how the bill would operate in relation to International Law. Steven was invited to give evidence answering the concerns of MPs and explaining the operation of international law in our dualistic model. He explained the legal issues and gave reassurances on the remit of the Courts. Click to here view.
Steven has written and spoken extensively on the UK constitution and its relationship with international law. Steven has an extensive Commercial, particularly Financial Services and Trusts practice he has more recently focused on Public Law.
