COVID-19 business continuity update

Radcliffe Chambers has taken steps to ensure that all our clients receive a consistently excellent level of service from us over the coming months.

The safety of our employees, barristers and clients is our utmost concern at this testing time, and we have postponed our training and business development events until the risk level is reduced. All of our staff and many of our barristers are now working from home, in line with government guidance and our own health and safety policy. There are some who are attending chambers for court hearings as required. You can still contact our clerking team by telephone (020 7831 0081) and email (clerks@radcliffechambers.com), and should also feel free to contact our barristers directly.

The transition to home working has been smooth, but it does mean that we are now unable to receive papers by mail, DX or delivery to chambers, other than in exceptional circumstances. We would therefore be extremely grateful if all bundles and other correspondence could be sent to us by email (clerks@radcliffechambers.com) until the guidance changes and it is safe for us to reopen our offices.

We do understand that it might not always be possible for you to send a bundle by email. If this is the case, please do not hesitate to contact our clerking team (by emailing clerks@radcliffechambers.com or calling 020 7831 0081), who will be able to help you make alternative arrangements.

As you may know, the courts are still open and our barristers continue to provide cover for court hearings, with everything from simple applications to trials currently being held by video conference. The courts are continuing to adapt to this new technology but for the most part it appears to be working well. Do let us know if we can assist with navigating this new system or with any other listing matters.

Although we are postponing our events, we really want to keep in touch. Over the next few months, we aim to catch up with more clients by phone, publish more briefings and be more active on social media than ever before. Our marketing team is working hard on different ways to add value to your day-to-day practice, such as podcasts and videos, and we will also be rolling out a new client feedback programme. If you have any thoughts on how we can help, we would love to hear from you.

If you have any questions about chambers and our response to the pandemic, please do not hesitate to contact our Chief Executive Fiona Fitzgerald directly by email (ffitzgerald@radcliffechambers.com) or by telephone (020 7693 5721).

We would like to wish all our clients the very best during these challenging times. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if there is anything we can do to support you.
