Junior Programme: Restructuring and Insolvency

Join us for Junior Programme: Restructuring and Insolvency, presented by Louis Grandjouan and Olivia Wilson, on Wednesday, 9 September in the Court Room at Holborn Venues from 17:00.

Louis will be discussing “When can an officeholder be sued for breach of duty, and when will the claim actually succeed?”
Claims against insolvency officeholders are becoming increasingly common, but successful claims remain rare. This talk will examine the circumstances in which officeholders may be held liable for breach of duty, the reasons why many claims fail and the key lessons for both claimants and insolvency practitioners

Olivia will delve into “When Directors Get It Wrong: Misfeasance”
Misfeasance under section 212 of the Insolvency Act 1986 remains one of the most frequently deployed tools available to office-holders. Olivia will provide an overview of the legal framework governing misfeasance claims, explore some of the recurring themes to this area of litigation, and consider strategic and procedural points encountered in practice.

This seminar is an in-person only event.
